Phobias may be memories passed down in genes from ancestors
Memories may be passed down through generations in DNA in a process that may be the underlying cause of phobias
Memories can be passed down to later generations through genetic switches that allow offspring to inherit the experience of their ancestors, according to new research that may explain how phobias can develop. Scientists have long assumed that memories and learned experiences built up during a lifetime must be passed on by teaching later generations or through personal experience. However, new research has shown that it is possible for some information to be inherited biologically through chemical changes that occur in DNA. Researchers at the Emory University School of Medicine, in Atlanta, found that mice can pass on learned information about traumatic or stressful experiences – in this case a fear of the smell of cherry blossom – to subsequent generations. The results may help to explain why people suffer from seemingly irrational phobias – it may be based on the inherited experiences of their ancestors. i thought of you, while in the shower
and i thought of how nice it’d be
to have your things among my things
along the bathtub’s edge
and i imagined myself running out of soap
and using yours
and wearing you to work, and the grocery store
and i imagined that night, laying down beside you
and smelling your neck
and finding out where all my soap had gone
This also applies to Supernatural
i want Twelve to swear a lot but i want the TARDIS to be conscious of it and basically put a swear filter on him so every time he says a bad word it comes out as a made up ten-year-old swear
you are a beautiful human being
john getting kidnapped and sherlock bursting through the door to rescue him and trying to untie him and but his hands are shaking too badly while john is perfectly calm and ends up soothing sherlock and promising him that everything’s fine while he’s still tied to a chair

I’m lucky, because quite by chance, I’m still within the first 15 hours of my regeneration cycle, which means I have just enough residual cellular energy to do this.

There has never been more accurate tags in one place.
Since Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman have a decent age difference between them, it’s quite likely that Capaldi’s Doctor and Clara will develop a father/daughter relationship. If and when this happens, my friend came up with five words that Capaldi’s Doctor could say during a particularly dangerous adventure that would be absolutely heartbreaking.
"Stay in the TARDIS, Susan!"
Oh I wasn’t using my heart or anything
Mythology: Kitsune [Japanese folklore]
Supernatural abilities commonly attributed to the kitsune include possession, mouths or tails that generate fire or lightning (known as kitsune-bi; literally, fox-fire), willful manifestation in the dreams of others, flight, invisibility, and the creation of illusions so elaborate as to be almost indistinguishable from reality. Some tales speak of kitsune with even greater powers, able to bend time and space, drive people mad, or take fantastic shapes such as a tree of incredible height or a second moon in the sky. Other kitsune have characteristics reminiscent of vampires or succubi and feed on the life or spirit of human beings, generally through sexual contact. [x]
Whoa this deserve a reblog
I don’t think people understand this concept. When I talk about my girlfriend and I say I was straight before I met her, I meant it. But then I met this girl and everything changed. I identify as homoflexible now.
